The R.I. Lampus Co. Alloy Department is a premier North American producer of silicon carbide and silicon briquettes for the iron foundry and steel industries, as well as a significant supplier of bagged metallurgical grade silicon carbide grain.

Silicon and silicon carbide briquettes are manufactured for use in iron cupolas. Bagged silicon carbide grain is supplied to iron induction furnace shops. Silicon carbide briquettes are supplied to integrated steel shops and silicon carbide grain to electric steel shops as a deoxidizer.

Our state-of-the-art, automated briquetting plant, has the flexibility to handle a wide variety of custom chemistry requests, and specialty briquette tolling requirements.
