July 4th: How to Celebrate With a Bang

The official holiday of summer is finally here! At Lampus, we know you can’t wait to spend your days outside. DÉCOR. Independence Day is a day meant to celebrate the US of A. Colors and decorations are red, white and blue. If you want to save some money, you can DIY everything from wreaths to pinwheels. Anything American flag related is a go! So get creative and patriotic for this one!


FOOD. The 4^th of July is a barbeque day and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Hot dogs and burgers are an American tradition and what better day to cook them than today! Of course, you can grill ribs, chicken, steak, and veggies but hot dogs and hamburgers are classic. Fresh fruit is also a great way to start the season off!


DRINKS. Drinks on the 4^th should match the theme! There are plenty to try that match the American theme with red, white and blue. Or you can at least have craft beers brewed in the United States. Summer beers tend to be fruity and refreshing just perfect for a hot day. Make sure to check those out!


GAMES. Outdoor games on Independence Day make us think of bocce and horseshoes. Both are very easy to set up in a yard that has a good flat area. New favorites like cornhole and Kanjam are creating a buzz for outdoor games too!  If you are lucky and the day is hot, it calls for a pool day! Pool games range all over the place so you can find one for your friends and family.  Buy that gigantic pool inflatable you’ve been eyeing up! It can be your statement piece!


MUSIC. Hits like Tom Petty’s “American Girl” and Don McLean’s “American Pie” are practically summer anthems at this point. Create a playlist featuring all of your favorite American themed songs and throw in some good summer jams while you’re at it!
